Follow a curated section of the Via Apsyrtides, Croatia’s premier long-distance trail winding along the dramatic coastlines of the Kvarner islands. This 8-day journey takes you from the charming fishing village of Veli Lošinj to the ancient hilltop town of Cres, crossing two islands on foot through unspoiled Mediterranean landscapes.
Each day brings new terrain: fragrant pine forests planted by Austrian aristocrats, rugged limestone ridges with panoramic Kvarner views, ancient olive groves, and the clifftop medieval village of Lubenice perched 378 metres above the Adriatic. The hardest day rewards with a summit of Osoršćica at 588 m — the highest point on Lošinj island.
Travelling self-guided means you hike at your own pace, with daily luggage transfers between carefully selected family-run guesthouses and small hotels. Your self-guided kit includes GPS tracks, a personalised map, detailed daily route notes, and 24/7 phone support from our local team. The tour runs April through September and suits hikers with a reasonable fitness level who enjoy the freedom of independent adventure.
